| The country is broken down into three areas: |
| Area #1 – British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Yukon |
| Area #2 – Northern Ontario, Western Ontario, Eastern Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and Northwest |
| Area #3 – Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, Labrador, Prince Edward Island and Nunavut |

| The NDFC Executive may put forth a person who is not being nominated by their Member Body but whom the Executive feel is deserving of such recognition |
| |
| The NDFC Executive will review all applications and may select one from each area. |
