Patricia Farrell and Rory Orvis
2003 Canadian National Single Champions
     Patricia Farrell of Newfoundland and Labrador captured her fifth national dart championship with a 4-1 win over Mandy Fleck of British Columbia.   On her way to the final she had defeated Anne-Marie Coroluick from Alberta in the round of 32.  She had a win over team mate Carmelita Kelly  and took out Nicole Loft of Ontario in the quarterfinals.  In the semi final she defeated Jean Barclay of Alberta to advance to the final.
     
    Mandy Fleck defeated, Cavelle Taylor of Newfoundland and Labrador, Judi Brown Alberta, Gayle King Alberta and Kim Whaley Ontario on her way to the finals.  
     
    In the final, Farrell went up three zip before Fleck had a 56 game shot to take the fourth leg. Farrell finished on double six in the fifth leg to claim the championship.  Patricia Farrell had a 23.42 final set average with ten scores 100+ and a 180. Her best game was a 13 darter (180,135,100,54,32) while Mandy Fleck had five scores 100+ and a final set average of 21.40.
     
     
    Rory Orvis captured his first National Singles title and it was the first championship for Manitoba since Arnold Parke was the champion in 1981. Orvis fell behind 4-1 to Seymour Dixon of Nova Scotia in the best of nine but rallied to take the championship 5-4. 
     
    Rory Orvis defeated Tim Bradley of New Brunswick, John Markham British Columbia, David Kendall Ontario and fought through a close match with Ghislain Tremblay of Quebec in the semifinals to advance to the final.  
     
    Seymour Dixon took out defending national champion John Part in the round of 32 and moved on to defeat Rick Fortin of New Brunswick.  Dixon had a win over Norm Tremblay of Northern Ontario and defeated fellow Nova Scotian Dave Cameron in the semifinals.
     
    In the finals Rory had a 25.25 average with eighteen scores of 100 or more.  Seymour Dixon shot a 25.45 average and hit sixteen scores 100+. Orvis took the first leg with a 71 game shot and Dixon took the next four legs. Orvis rallied to take the final four legs to capture the Championship.
