 NDFC TV

The NDFC is breaking new ground in the Canadian darts scene by being the first to bring you live streaming of Canadian Darts.

During the 2010 Canadian National Championships, we ran a trial of a 'free' live streaming service to see what kind of response we would get.

The amount of viewers overwhelmed our 'free' account and many people could not get on to the site. While this was unfortunate, it's also great news that we have so many people interested. This also got the attention of our live streaming host and we now have the capacity for an unlimited number of viewers.

Thank you for your support and all those fans who camped out on our channel!

Frequently Asked Questions:

1: Why use Live Streaming?

A: Live streaming allows us to use the internet to broadcast events.

2: What if I miss the live broadcast?

A: Events will be available for later viewing. With our 'free' account there is a limit to how much we can store.

3: Why is the quality not as good as television?

A: Live streaming over the internet does not provide the same quality as traditional television broadcasting. There are many other factors that can impact the quality such as the viewers computer and the speed of their internet connection.

4: I have seen other live streaming that is much higher quality. Why is the NDFC's broadcast not as good?

A: Currently, the NDFC is using a 'free' service and we are restricted to a lower grade of service.

5: Will any of the broadcasts have television features like split-screen views and display the live scores on-screen?

A: We have been experimenting with these features that will require an investment in equipment and software. We are currently evaluating the cost and effort.

6: What events will be broadcast?

A: The 2010 Adult National Championships was the trial event for our channel. The response to our new TV channel was an overwhelming success! We plan to broadcast both the Youth and Adult National Championships in 2011 in Edmonton, Alberta.

6: Can we expect to see other events being broadcasted?

A: We would love to be able to broadcast darts every day on our channel. We are looking for local volunteers to assist. If you are interested in getting involved, please contact Rick Smith.

Stay tuned and with your support we can make this initative a huge success!
